Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We are now about ten days out, and more than ready to go. The bags are mostly packed, the itinerary is set, so on January 11th we will get on a plane bound for Baku, via New York and Moscow. Funny thing, both of those cities have seen record cold and snowfall in recent weeks, dozens of canceled flights, and even some rioting in the Moscow airport. We have a seven-hour layover in Russia, so that should be interesting...

We had a delightful Christmas holiday with the kids at the Oklahoma cabin. No snow, but we had a fire in the fireplace and sat around and watched movies and played video games, just enjoying each other.

We're off to Florida tomorrow, one last visit with Beloved's parents, and our tickets depart out of Orlando. I'm working furiously to finish up all the little projects that need to get done before getting out of town, it will be another long day. However, I am anticipating the pace to slow way way down once we get to our destination, and I will get to take some long-needed rest and recuperation.

The aforementioned camera lens didn't materialize, the seller said that eBay "must have made a mistake," but at least I got my money back...

Happy New Year!
